Operating System for Imagicle UCX Suite

Imagicle UCX Suite requires to be installed on Windows Server OS. Supported versions are Windows Server 2022/2019/2016 Standard/Datacenter/Essential.

If you have Windows Server 2022/2019/2016 licenses available in your Microsoft agreement, you can use one of those. If you do not have a license and you need to buy a new one, please follow the suggestions below.

Purchasing MS Windows Server 2022

Windows Server 2022 Essentials works with any number of cores and it is suitable for small installations where OS cost impact is relevant. Product code is the following:

  • Windows Server 2022 Essentials, product code: G6S-00246.

Windows Server 2022 Standard and Datacenter editions are licensed per core with a minimum of 16 cores, that are also the max required by the largest virtual machine for Imagicle UCX Suite.

So the products to purchase, fitting any Imagicle environment, are:

  • Windows Server 2022 Standard, 16 cores, product code: P73-08330;
  • Windows Server 2022 Datacenter, 16 cores, product code: P71-09391.

There’s no need for CALs for Imagicle UCX Suite usage.

Note: Windows Server 2022 can’t be currently activated on Imagicle Virtual Appliance. If you plan to use the Virtual Appliance, you need a Windows Server 2019 Standard license.

Purchasing MS Windows Server 2019/2016

Windows Server 2019/2016 Standard edition is licensed per core with a minimum of 16 cores, that are also the max required by the largest virtual machine for Imagicle UCX Suite.

So the products to purchase, fitting any Imagicle environment, are:

  • 8x Windows Server 2019 Standard 2 cores, product code: 9EM-00653;
  • 8x Windows Server 2016 Standard 2 cores, product code 9EM-00124.

There’s no need for CAL for Imagicle UCX Suite usage.

License Downgrade (if needed) from Windows 2022 Standard Open License to Windows 2019/2016

Please contact your Microsoft partner/reseller to learn more about possible downgrade scenarios for your license.

Note: If end users have an Enterprise Agreement with Microsoft, typical of medium to large companies, they will probably provide the necessary Windows Server license.
